World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may raise an item’s Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.
Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its stats increase in value. This value is the total of all its leveled up advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be expensive, dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the number of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.
The level of an item is a popular measure of power, and can be found on all tooltips of items. It can also be used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). Players can see their average level of items on their character sheet.
When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment players can look at the item level. It’s a measure of the damage and quality. The item level can also be used to compare items when examining the inventory of a seller.
On PC, you are able to see the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are a variety of theories on how the level of an item upgrader kit is determined. One theory suggests that the level of an item is determined by formulas that determine the worth of an item’s stats actually are. It considers that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets increase the item’s value. This can result in an item’s ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard’s real item level.
However, this is not the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, since the level of the region the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for instance by adding an additional level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
The item’s stats can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being “the most effective.” The base stats of a weapon are increased by the weapon’s stat modification that are in turn increased by the player’s skill.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.
Affixes are a different method to change an item’s stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The affixes could provide the item additional damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving dead or decreasing cooldowns), or make the item unique by putting an additional name to the item.
At present, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other options for rerolling.
Players can choose to upgrade an item to a specific stat or reroll the affixes. The range of stats determined by the item’s level. However every item will include at least one stat in the same range, unless it’s an item that is unique or a God Roll from a raid boss.
This is another thing that could be altered by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or choosing which stats to enhance. Similar to the base equipment, this will have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats simultaneously.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the chances of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the strength of these properties. It doesn’t, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in the early game as opposed to later ones, because most players value higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.
In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall upgrade probability that increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, shields, and armor can be made or spawn with the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of an item upgrading, up to 140.
Furthermore some items, such as the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased from the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item in the event that it does not work.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can’t exceed 100%.
The Luck of an item can affect the success of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.
Note that item upgrading upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects can be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader (https://Maps.Google.Com.Br/Url?Q=Https://Telegra.Ph/20-Important-Questions-To-Have-To-Ask-About-Item-Upgrading-Before-You-Decide-To-Purchase-It-10-11) CORE client config.
